No, that's definitely not how it works. You're clearly a new fan of the sport. We've seen guys get dropped/hurt by lesser fighters and then take punches from big punchers, it's nothing new. There are a lot of variables.

I will take that bet if it happens, I don't see why it won't.

New? How many amateurs bout have you had? I guarantee I've had a lot more than you. You know nothing about my boxing background or anything besides who I like and how old I am. Some of these posters are ridiculous. He got dropped and gets caught a lot, that is not a good idea vs a big puncher. Only Crawford beats Lucas at 140. He's fought no big names, give him a few years before an "expert" like yourself picks him over a veteran. Btw, the fight is 10 rounds and not an eliminator.

I don't doubt that Imam has potential to become a top dog at 140 but I doubt he can step up that much now.

I've had about 12, that has nothing to do with how your understanding of the sport isn't any good though. What the **** does it matter how many amateur bouts I've had? What does that have to do with your flawed logic? Btw I swear you had your age down as 18 a couple months ago, how did you go from 18 to 20 so quickly boss? Is your math as bad as your boxing knowledge or...?

So what if he got dropped? It's boxing, it happens. You're talking like getting dropped is some kind of huge deal. He got caught with a good punch by a guy with decent power and he went down, got straight back up. It's nothing major. He wouldn't fight as reckless against Matthysse as he was against Maldonaldo.

Imam is a far bigger talent than Crawford imo. I'd pick Matthysse to beat Crawford.

i love his right hand. you can't throw that thing any more straight. when he puts in on dudes from the right distance, they freaking know it

he's almost like a poor man's donald curry. i think that's the comparison i'd make.

His right hand is special. I see a bit of the hitman Hearns in him with that height, jab and vicious right hand. He's got a bit of Toney in him as well the way he rolls punches and counters.

He's a real big talent. Needs to sharpen up the defence but he's the goods for sure.

You can't question my understanding of a sport because I disagree with your opinion. You favour Imam, I favour Lucas end of, no reason for anyone to het upset. My record is 29-8. And yeah my maths is terrible, got my results for my second year of biomed (75% of my degree) last week and I got 84.17%. God help me find a job. Please bless me with your extensive boxing knowledge.

Very good shoulder roll too, closest catch and shoot to Mayweather I've seen in recent times.

Imam made a real good impression on me, I'll go out of my way to watch him

Great frame for a WW imo. Only thing that I worry about is that it seems like he takes a a minute to wake up on defense, early on in fights his reaction time is off or something it's hard to describe - he simply does not react to some punches that are thrown and there are times where it feels like a huge shot is going to land like it did in the Maldanado fight. But then once he warms up it seems like he sees more of what's incoming, much better defensive sense on the inside.

edit: could have sworn Imam was already a WW, still 140

I'm not questioning your understanding of the sport because you're disagreeing with my opinion, I'm questioning it because you're arguing against reason and logic.

I'm not upset at all, it's just that your logic was flawed and the patronising schoolboy attitude meant I had to throw a few left hooks to the body to calm you down. It's fine if you think Lucas would win, that's very possible, nothing wrong with that.

I'd be happy to school you again anytime in the future. Next time bring a pen and paper to my lectures though, take notes, don't want you missing any key information.

Of course as a boxer I'm aware of all the variables involved in a fight but I feel Matthysse has the tools to beat Imam however I didn't plan on spending half my night explaining them. I'm glad you had so much time on your hands to participate in this conversation with extensive replies. If your witty responses make you feel smart, Keep at it buddy.
