No, because size does matter and that's why they have different weight classes. If the bigger fighter wins fans will say it was partly because he was bigger and they would be right. For instance if Ward and GGG are equally good pound for pound and they fight at 168 the fact that Ward is naturally 8 pounds bigger should be enough advantage for Ward to win. Likewise for GGG vs Lara at 160 and Crusher vs Ward at 175. I don't think a fighter who stays in his own weight class is ducking anyone. A fighter who turns down fair offers to fight another good fighter in his own weight class could be accused of ducking that fighter.Comment

They have more weight classes than needed. 112 to 115 or 115 to 118 or 118 to 122 or 122 to 126 or 126 to 130 are all just a steak dinner apart. There is no need for a different weight class every 3 or 4 pounds. They could cut the number of weight classes in about half and it would be better. They make a big deal of a fighter being a champion in 3 different weight classes. If the fighter was champion at 112 and 115 and 118 he only went up 6 pounds. That's not exactly a Henry Armstrong type accomplishment.Comment

I'm starting to see a pattern here, and its kinda funny,so just follow along.
Lara.154
Ggg.160
Ward.168
Kovalev.175
If Lara fights ggg and loses, people will say that Lara was too small, and ggg was too big. If ggg fights ward, and loses, people will say that ggg was too small, and ward was to big. If ward loses against kovalev, people will say that ward was too small, and kovalev was too big.
Do you guys think that any of these fights can end with the originally bigger fighter winning, and the outcome not be attributed to the fighters size?
GGG/Kov fans do not mind GGG getting fights that are easiest to win but avoid discussing the fights that they think are difficult to win or will not end in a GGG ko.Comment

When it comes to GGG, this isn't the case. It would be dishonest to put Kov and GGG in the same boat in this regardLast edited by The Big Dunn; 07-09-2015, 09:41 AM.Comment

That is the pattern I see. Come on MD. Kov is possibly a racist, doesn't use VADA (which, according to some posters means he is using PED's) and is avoiding Adonis at this point in time, but his fans do not care who he fights because they think he wins all of them.

In all seriousness, you shouldn't be surprised by what we are seeing from GGG. He isn't a regular guy anymore, he is HBO's next guy. As we've seen with every fighter in this position, there will be some questionable, hypocritical decisions made because he has expectations to meet for his network.
Like Jay-z-"he sold 5 mil an aint rhymed like Common, since."Comment
