It's common to support fighters of own race or nationality. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

But when you're here bashing fighters that aren't black, i take issue, I bet if ward wanted Cw vs kova some posters wouldn't be posting in the thread

This has nothing to do with the thread but it's getting pretty crazy how much traffic GGG produces on these boxing websites. I wish Loeffler took notice so he could get an idea on what the **** to do. I'm a GGG fan but I can't support everything. I don't think he's afraid of Ward or any challenge but Tom is speaking some **** that makes it seem otherwise. Golovkin really needs to come out and clear the air of any bull**** that's going on, in English or Russian-nothing British (we've seen how that got fabricated).

That chick that sang that "Friday" song a few years ago drew a ton of traffic too; namely for folks flooding their social media with how **** her song was.

Have a sense that this is more of what's happening in this case; K2/HBO spent so much time building Golovkin as a monster, the general boxing public was starting to pay real attention to him, and now this move is starting to make Golovkin look like a little *****, drawing more attention to this ***** move than he's ever drawn for any other discussion in his life.

If this breaks through to the general audience ('Golovkin is ready to fight anyone 154-168, yet, to face an Andre Ward coming off of a 19-month layoff and not even all the way back yet, has to get 164'), Golovkin's mystique is shattered and all HBO would be left with is a 33-year old can crusher who's afraid of getting put into a real fight.

The truth is floyd/ward fans like us only want ggg to fight Ward because we know in our heart floyd can't beat ggg. We figure ward is bigger so he has a better chance of winning.

it's been said 100 times but... golovkin is a small middleweight about the size of canelo and ward is fighting at 172 catchweights unsure if he can even make 168.. they are effectively 2 divisions apart

either one will be drained or one will be dwarfed

get over it and make ggg-canelo/lara/etc / ward=kovalev/ beterbiev/etc

I really don't get the glolovkin hate from some posters (that love fighters that they want to avoid GGG ... Cotto, frock, and mayweather fans mainly) I don't like 164 but if ward is insisting on so much money despite being the B side in most fans eyes then he is going to have to give something. Better would be 168 (not in oakland) and with GGG taking the lions share of the purse ... but since ward won't agree to that then 164 and 50-50.

of course GGG haters will say he should go to 168 AND take less money AND fight in Oakland. lol.

Set the weight at 168, put out the offer that you would expect to command for 168, and see what Team Ward would counter.

The hangup would be, blatantly guessing, if Team Golovkin asked for a 70/30 split of the money for the fight at 168, or some other nonsense like that.

Because Loeffler could've easily said that they would fight Ward at 168, with a 60/40 Golovkin split of the money (Golovkin "being the bigger star" and all), and the intrawebs would've been cool with it.
