Ward had no idea the guy would come in way over weight, he said as much. And the guy came in fat and flabby. Maybe he didn't train as hard knowing he didn't have to cut as much weight, I don't know. But it was clearly a cherry pick and he gets a pass cause it was a "tune up".
I just think Gennady gets unnecessary hate from fans. He wants to fight the best and fight 4 times a year. I am enjoying the run he is on and wish more fighters were like him.
As for GGG, the reason imo why he gets the hate he does is because hes supposed to be this killer, the way they are promoting him, and that its hard for them to get fights. But then they go and use excuses, like this cw for example, & start using high risk/low reward scenarios. To me, that's being full of shit imo.

“It would be a struggle to move down to 168, but I would do it to face Ward. I think he should move up to 175 to take me on because everyone would see it as a tune-up for Kovalev as he switches weight classes, but I doubt he will. He knows I’m not worth the risk,” said Agnew.

“That was not a bout I saw myself in at the time. My promoter sent me the text about it and my heart just about stopped. I definitely am honored to be in that conversation, but at the same time that’s a bad boy. I’m not ready to move up a weight class and take on the #2 pound-for-pound guy in the world. That’s something I need to work my way up to. So right now we’re just sticking at middleweight and hopefully win a title in the next two or three fights,” Truax respectfully states.

I think Ward should take this fight. He's obviously ducking Kovalev, but he has a far better chance of being successful against Golovkin..... He should take the fight. But he won't.
GGG has weighed ****ing 170, he is not that small. Ward has weighed 173. I dont see why he cant ****ing fight ward at a legit 168. Its moving up 1 division.
The catchweight only serves to drain ward and give the advantage to GGG.
GGG wants floyd to fight him who is 19 pounds smaller but somoene 5 pounds more than him is "too big". Especially for a guy claiming everyone who is avoiding him, he should be trying to get big fights but hes not.
