First of all it is defensible because Ward, a guy who is a natural light heavy drained the **** out of Dawson. But I think this is weak to be asking for a catchweight whether your Cotto Ward or Mayweather or anyone for that matter

And Chad Dawson publicly stated that he would come down to 168lbs. Ward took advantage of that, yes.

Ward has never stated that we would go to 164.

Did a quick google and I found Tom Leoffler said they'd fight Ward at a catch weight back in March during the Monroe media stuff, which I never heard myself. It was a RadioRaheem video. Looks like Tom has said this stuff before at least twice over the course of several months.
