Also how can you 'clearly' be the A side but offer 50-50?
      Exactly

Absolutely full of ****. The 50/50 part is just a smokescreen to fool the unwashed masses into thinking it's some kind of fair deal.

It's a publicity stunt to promote their next fight.

"We offered Ward the fight but he said no so that's why we're fighting this Mexican pot washer"

They are not serious at all about fighting Ward.

I'm gonna say the same from the other post:

if they go 168 for froch why can't they do the same for Ward?

        I don't get it.

for me Loeffler had to say its a 60-40 split at 168. and then wait for them to make the move, but the 164 its a b_itch move(and I am a great GGG supporter)

well if they negociate I hope its at least at 166. But for the record, nobody and I repeat, nobody should use this catchweights just to drain the other fighter(not even mayweather)

Sorry Team GGG, you got it wrong here.

Maybe Froch was right after all then, and like many pointed out why 164 for ward? I thought he was an easy KO victim?

At the end of the day Golovkin is a bigger star then Ward. He has more fans, he's more well-known and he draws better ratings (at a cheaper price, too).

Golovkin said he wants it. Ward has yet to talk. So until Ward agrees to a fight and signs the contract.......

I think on this issue it was a ******ed statement by Tom and I doubt that is a request from GGG (being that he's stated he opposes catchweights). But even if Golovkin really wants a CW Tom shouldn't have said it. You don't say that kind of stuff unless it's really necessary and they are advanced in negotiating already, otherwise you just open yourself up for unnecessary criticism, like he just did here.

If I'm Golovkin I give Leoffler/K2 about 6 months to get him a big fight and if they don't deliver I'd seriously consider shopping around (no idea what his contract is with K2 though).
First, don't forget that first offer doesn't necessarily have to be take it or leave it - could be a strategy just to open negotiations, draw out a counter offer.

I'm not totally against this catch-weight. I don't like CWs but I'd rather see the fight at a CW than not at all as in the recent Porter-Broner fight - didn't like the CW but glad we got the fight. So many Ward worshipers or Froch adorers crap on GGG for his "shit" resume saying that he is a hype job, big white hope. OK, if that's the case - then no big risk for Ward at a CW right? I mean, if GGG if no good what are Ward fans crying about? Lets see if Ward has got the same size sack as Porter.

This site is so full of GGG haters but what's really to hate? He is what draws casual fans into boxing and gratifies blood lust of certain hard core fans. More than you can say about Ward.

If Ward is so great and GGG is such a hype job then surely Ward can drop down 2-3lbs just to make the fight?

Anyone with a problem with this obviously feels Ward has no chance against Golovkin. The only way I would have a problem with a catchweight personally is if Ward only fights Kovalev at a catchweight and doesn't fully move up. He said he would move up to 175 and talked a lot of crap. But now he doesn't want it. Hmmmmmmm
I don't wanna hear shit from you if Cotto wants a CW vs GGG then.
