    Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Simpiwe Vetyeka.

I heard this fight might happen later this year.

This would be a good step up for Lomachenko. I haven't actually seen any of Vetyeka's fights, because what videos there are of his fights are in terrible quality, but from what I've heard, he has a decent skill set, and is rugged.

This could be Lomachenko's chance to show how he's grown as a fighter since the Salido fight.

    Who wins?

This would be a good fight. Vetyeka is a good fighter. I'd favor Loma, but it would be a close one

Like I said in the other thread, Lomachenko fans talked crap and said he didn't need to fight Walters cause Walters doesn't have a belt. But they're gonna praise this fight and as you can see, it's already happening.

Lomachenko is ducking Walters, plain and simple.

        Stop being so butthurt lol.
        Here

Instead of blaming Loma for the Walters fight not happening why don't you blame Walters, the guy who was unprofessional. If he could still make weight like most people claim, then why doesn't he try to get a fight ASAP and try to get back down maybe the WBA will let him fight for his old belt. Instead of making assumptions, let Walters prove he can make weight. If that doesn't happen then Loma doesn't have to move up because he couldn't make weight, deal with it.

dude, Wlaters is anything but unprofessional. He explained why he missed weight honestly and completely. He even tried to lose the weight unlike other fighters.

He was only 1lb over so maybe if he doesn't have the long celebration at home he makes weight the next time out.

Besides, it's a great fight between 2 up and coming fighters. Why should 1 lb take the fight off the table?

I hate the way Vetyeka lost his title so I'm happy to see him get another title shot

As for this fight, I like it. It'll be a good test, I want to see how Loma deals with a rangy fighter.
It doesn't look like Selby wants to fight, he actually said he wanted to wait two years before a unification. I saw the news yesterday on boxingnewsonline .net, I can't find it anymore though. That's unbelievable, Loma can't wait around for him. Obviously he can't fight Haymon fighters, so I wonder how much longer he'll stay at 126.
He may be forced to move up to 130, which I don't mind at all. There is more competition at 130 anyway.

i always thought this fight made sense for loma. he's been moved along quickly, but could still do with one more solid step-up before taking on someone like walters. if top rank would give him more dates then he could have fought them both this year

He already outclassed Gary Russell and I think Russell will beat Mares, Santa Cruz and everybody else in Haymon's stable. I say beat Vetyeka and maybe we can get the Loma/Walters unification at 130 if they can both win titles. Hopefully even Gamboa while he still has something left.

My problem is people are trying to blame Loma and his fans for this fight all of the sudden for this fight not happening.
Like I said If he could still make the weight, he should try to get a fight ASAP to prove it instead of making assumptions. Sounds fair to me, Loma and his team won't risk Walters not making weight against him. So he'll need proof.
People complain about catchweights all the time, Loma is one of the few fighters that doesn't like them. He has said several times, even before this Walters things happened, that there is weight classes for a reason.
What people don't understand is that this fight was going to happen, had Walters made weight. Now I understand why he had trouble making weight, but he also had six months to lose that weight (I heard he went up to the 160's) and he still failed. If Loma has to fight him at a catchweight, it's not happening. That's the reality. It sucks but it's the truth. Remember Loma's team made a mistake of letting Salido come in over weight and they are obviously learning from their mistakes.

Even if this fight doesn't happen at 126, Loma will most likely be forced to move up to 130 sooner rather than later. Selby doesn't seem to want to fight anyone with a pulse right now. Loma will not be able to fight any of Haymon's fighters.

I want to see the dang fight too. But we will just have to wait a little longer than we expected. But if Loma and Walters are as good as we think, they won't lose before they face each other. It'll probably be next year. Either at 126 or 130, depending on Walters trying to get back down or not.
