I thought Mares fought Reyes as a prep for LSC. I didn't like how often Mares was getting tagged. I thought Mares was tentative, confused almost scared at times.

I agree with you that LSC hasn't been in with anyone of note recently. He hasn't looked great. I get the sense he is bored by fighting easy guys.

I too am looking forward to the fight as I like both guys and didn't give up on them as others have. I just really didn't like what I saw from Mares in the last fight.

I'm with you on Mares. He has'nt been the same since Gonzalez killed him with that nasty left hook. I also agree that either guy can get their career rolling with an impresive win here. Both guys are still young exciting fighters and marketable.

That hook took as much out of Mares as Vernon's (rip) uppercut took out of Shane.

Amazing how 1-2 seconds changes the trajectory of a boxing career.

Its going to be a great fight for sure and I'm with Kiko on this one. I like both fighters but I'm pulling for Mares to win this one.

While he prepares to face Scott Quigg on July 18, Martínez gave his opinion to BoxingScene on the potential forthcoming clash between Santa Cruz and Ábner Mares.

And he is more well-rounded than Leo, should have too many strings to his bow.
