Comments Thread For: Orozco Ready For Terence Crawford and Next Step

Coming off a victory over the solid Emanuel Taylor on May 15th in Phoenx, Arizona, undefeated junior welterweight Antonio Orozco (22-0, 15 KO's) looks to the next step in his career. Word is that he's on the short list to face the WBO 140-pound champion Terence Crawford, who's return on HBO is slated for November 7th in Omaha, Nebraska.

Orozco is a real solid fighter, he beat Taylor far more impressively than Broner. He slowed down a bit towards the end though, he will need a bigger engine than that as he steps up in competition. I'd like to see him fight Soto or Provodnikov next.

He's got good skill and fundamentals and he's a real good body puncher. I'd like to see more of him on a bigger stage.

I like Orozco but I think this is too big of a step for him right now and he'll be outclassed by Crawford.

Orozco is a decent fighter, but to me both Broner and Orozco struggled with Taylor. Orozco looked tired and gassed out in the late rounds. Taylor had his moments and I had Orozco barely winning the fight. From what I see I don't think he has the tools to beat one of the top 5, but I might be wrong. I would like to see him against a decent contender like Michael Perez or Humberto Soto before he faces one of the top 5 in the division.
