Well deserved. He couldn't deliver Kovalev because his promoter backed out of the purse bid so he gets a new whip instead.

ha, let's not pretend they were trying to deliver Kovalev or that Stevenson even wanted to fight him.

The only reason the purse bid was even happening is because Main Events pushed the WBC to make Kovalev into a mandatory. Stevenson's promoter was upset that WBC did that and made his feelings known publicly, so it's not like they sought the fight.

Prior to that Haymon scuppered Kovalev-Stevenson in 2014, scuppered Hopkins-Stevenson then Pascal-Stevenson. So yeah, thanks Al.

Thing is, Haymon is smarter and more reserved than King ever was.

Do you think its written into these fighters contract to thank Al Haymon all the time? It must be. No fighter that is signed to Haymon ever forgets to mention him pre fight or post fight.
