Not a fan of strange thread titles but had to do it in this one. I watched the Canastota Boxing Hall of Fame introduction speeches the other day and I obviously came across Jim Lampley's speech. I couldn't quite believe what I was seeing. Has time surpassed me already that things that seem total awkward to me are seen as totally "normal" in this day and age?

Because when I saw Lampley reading his words from a tablet or an ebook reader (or whatever exactly it was), I was taken aback. I mean, honestly, if you get inducted into the IBHOF, then you read from a tablet and even turn to the next page for everybody to see - so you read a prepared speech word by word?

People have read prepared speeches at awards ever since i can remember, you have a problem with it because he read it from a tablet?
