Comments Thread For: Malignaggi Slams Fans Critical of PBC Movement

Former two-division world champion Paulie "Magic Man" Malignaggi is shocked with some of the critical comments that are flying from fans on the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) series.

Manager/adviser Al Haymon, through his company Haymon Boxing, started the PBC series in March on NBC/NBC Sports. Since then, PBC has locked up television deals with Spike TV, Bounce TV, ESPN/ABC, Fox Sports 1 and CBS/Showtime.

This coming Saturday night, PBC will make it's debut on ESPN with Keith Thurman defending the WBA 'regular' welterweight title against the former beltholder Luis Collazo.

Is it strange for me to wish that Danny fractures Paulie's jaw like josesito did to Ortiz? Seriously, everything that comes from his mouth is pure bull****.

Why is Malignaggi acting like ESPN Friday Night Fights (FNF) is the standard against which PBC should be judged? Talk about setting a low bar.

Garcia-Malignaggi was a good fight 2 years ago, Thurman-Collazo was a good fight 3 years ago. Today, Thurman-Garcia and Malignaggi-Collazo makes much more sense but no, we get two more mediocre match-ups that no one wanted.

Malignaggi was the biggest Haymon hater of the lot. Then he signs with him and he's the best thing ever.

There has been 2 good matchups. Porter Broner and Berto Lopez. The rest, what was the point? The outcome was decided when the papers were signed. The Dirrell fight, nobody wants to see that loser.

They're both on free TV, look at what u get on Friday night fights and look at what u get on PBC, noway a fighter like Thurman or Garcia or Malignaggi or Porter or Broner would fight on Friday night fights, even if they're fighting someone's grandma. Get real! Al Haymon is keeping the fighters relevant and busy so that they don't get out of shape for too long, sometimes he gets his fighters stay busy fights, sometimes he puts them there against tough opposition, we just had Peterson vs Garcia, Thurman vs Guerrero, Broner vs Porter, Khan vs Algieri and so on, and all these fight were in a span of 2-3 months, Nothing to complain about here really, how many times have showtime or HBO done anything like this in the last 15 years?

The bookmakers odds back up what you're saying, more so in Thurmans case. Showcase fights for Haymon's future cash cows.

this flipflopping ahole says and does what hes told, nobody wanted to see this fight, nobody wants to see him in survival mode against danny garcia from the moment the first bell rings, with no firepower to keep garcia honest, this guy is getting paid by haymon to make garcia look good and get a sub decent name on his record but the fights 3 years to late. I love boxing but Pbcs product is getting watered down, and the fights are totally uninspired right now, heres hoping they end the year strong.
