Yeah, yeah, just like Stallone thought he could fight until he actually stepped in the ring with someone who did it professionally. Ernie Shavers whooped his ass and made him vomit with a body shot.

I think it was Jake LaMotta who said that De Niro could have been a top 10 pro or something after Raging Bull. IIRC, De Niro fought 3 pro bouts in Brooklyn during preparation for the movie.

I have a steel chin though, been hit in baseball games with bats and I can take a solid swing.
Considering the posts you make around here, I have no doubt that you have been hit in the head a number of times with bats. That really does explain a lot!

Have to agree. If you have no training at all. to make statements like that are kind of silly. I've been an amateur fighter for 12 years albeit very inactive and I'll admit I have some delusions of grandeur. I think if I trained like a career I could make a decent run because guys who can actually fight tell me I have some those attributes he was talking about (though I wouldn't say extreme ability, power of a heavyweight, or tremendous speed) I do have very good power, an iron chin. Of course you guys dont care what I think of my ability but my point is that the training is what turns a fighter with potential into a real fighter. Best example I can use is Pawel Wolak. That guy had no speed, coordination, or any great skill but he came in terrific shape and was an ok fighter. Darnell Boone has always challenged top pros without amateur experience I have always said though I understand it was a movie, Will Smith always looked amazing in his role as Ali. I'm rambling but I'll wrap it up with the saying the people who train with Golovkin says he trains like you wouldn't believe and he won 345 of his 350 amateur fights so experience and an insane will to win matters.

                      LOL brilliant.

I'll be honest, i've always been pretty good in street fights since i was a kid, i grew up in a rough area and being able to fight was one of the best ways to get by. However, i know if i step in the ring with even a journeyman pro boxer, i'm getting put to sleep within about 30 seconds.

Don't underestimate how good these pro fighters are, not even just the top fighters. Amir Khan might get KO'd by other top fighters but i would bet my house and my whole bank account that you wouldn't last a round. I would be temped to bet it all you won't last 30 seconds.
