Just got home and read the result.

I wasn't expecting Chagaev to win so easily.

Hopefully Ruslan knocks Fres out quickly too I hated that last fight, it was shocking the shape Ruslan turned up in last out, falling on his opponent out of exhaustion. Then onto Browne vs Chagaev, ideally Luis Ortiz versus the winner of that fight would be an awesome mandatory for Wlad.

chageav in his early days always showed good pop with that short left land. he looked like the chageav of old in this fight altho the quality of his opponent helped him out im sure. the condition he showed up in that oquendo fight was ridiculous. maybe he learned his lesson

Damn, Chagaev bullied his man into that stoppage, stopped him on the inside while on the ropes too. Pianeta brought his right hand back too low after jabbing and it cost him the first KD.

Tough loss to take for sure.

Chagaev got him with a good shot to the eye.

The follow-up punch wasn't as hard or flush, but Pianeta was already on the way down.

Yes. Today, he fought aggressively like he used to back in 2003-2006.

Yeah but Chagaev was pretty bloody good back in the day and although you can say his form slipped he isn't really that old so could definitely still produce good performances. He's much more experienced overall than Pianeta, who isn't really that good, just strong and tall but had a pretty inflated record.

I haven't seen it yet, but I've been waiting to hear how that went, thanks!

Brutal to watch Pianeta after the stoppage. Heartbreaking.

Chagaev looked like a completely different fighter than the guy who lazily worked his way to a decision over Travis Walker years ago. If he improved his fitness level a little bit, he could still be a big threat to anyone not named Klitschko.

it was actually a flush shot to the temple that did most of the damage. the follow up shot to the top of the head was just icing on the cake. cant help but feel for pianata,,,,those shots to the top or back of the head hurt like a mofo. hes really just a club fighter and the difference between him and world class was obvious even tho chagaev is well past it
