For weeks there was talk of Golovkin potentially going up to super middleweight for a fight with Froch in the UK.

Froch has not fought since May of last year when he knocked out George Groves before 80,000 fans at Wembley Stadium. There is a very good possibility that Froch may retire instead of fighting again.

This article was kinda anti-climatic considering the title

BS needs to stop sensationalizing every hint of something ..........

When did Froch beat Ward? Because I must have missed it.

Froch has done his work over the last 6/7 years, he can tease whoever he wants, he didn't just turn up in September 2012 and knocking out boy band members.

So you criticize Golovkin for not beating any top opponents yet defend the top opponents who won't fight him? Makes sense.

The way these idiots think, the only way to fight a top elite boxer is to have been lucky enough to have fought him BEFORE he made his name or be an easy enough mark for him to fight you at the end of his career as a cherry pick.

If you are an elite fighter just starting to make his mark, you can forget about any recognized 'elite' taking a chance on you AND they are perfectly within their rights as they have 'paid their dues and earned the right to go out on their own terms.'

By that way of thinking, when Ward and Froch and Cotto and Mayweather retire, there will be no possibility of ANY fighter ever being recognized as elite ever again as there will be no true 'elite' fighters for them to prove themselves against.

I guess it's time to just pack up the sport of boxing because there will be no one left but bums and cans and what's the point in watching them?

Gennady is the face of boxing and sadly this comes with the territory.
I am fairly sure that you are right. GGG is the kind of old school boxer/puncher that comes along once every 20 or 30 years. These guys know it and are unwilling to step in the ring with him.
