The interview from 2 days ago with the British paper. No one from Golovkin's or Ward's teams have commented on the interview from over a week ago with the Russian journalist when Golovkin claimed Ward turned down a fight between the two by HBO.


I find Loeffler's response here to be the most interesting part. He says they're in negotiations with Golovkin's next opponent, but after Froch released that photo of him being too big for GGG, Loeffler says he's had no contact from Hearn. That tells me they're not looking at a Froch fight. I'm hoping they're negotiating with either Ward, DeGale, or even Lara.

I dont believe that Golovkin will fight any of those guys.

They're negotiating for a middleweight opponent. I'm quite sure of it, GGG's team often mention big names but they never reach the negotiation stage. Plus, the Ward fight is booked in for next year, no point in HBO blowing their load now.

Golovkin is a media hype job. The most dominant fighter on the planet against who? 20 straight knockouts against who? He hasn't faced anyone and those ko's consisted of mostly tko's that statement alone can be misleading. He needs to fight ward if he is ever going to be taken serious as an elite fighter. He is far from an all time great. He hasnt even reached hall of fame status yet. He needs stop fighting c and c+ level fighters and start fighting real threats.
