Comments Thread For: Early Fight Results From Dublin: Fitzgerald Wins

Dublin—Matthew Macklin’s co-promotion with Frank Warren at Dublin’s National Stadium featured an evenly fought fight between Dublin’s Anthony Fitzgerald (11st 5lbs 8oz) and Kieron Gray (11st 5lbs 9oz).

They went toe-to-toe throughout their scheduled eight-threes contest, but the action was often messy—leading to a few nip-and-tuck rounds that could have gone either way.

Very impressed with Geraghty showed good speed and defence. Opponent was poor but still good to see him thinking in there. Ormonds opponent will be pissing blood for a month after those bodyshots.

Incredible win for Conlan who was all but done in the 7th Mickey Van gave him more than a little bit of help by not stopping it when the Mexican was throwing everything and Conlan was not answering but he showed incredible heart and some good boxing in the last three!!

The most egregious homer ref'ing since Marlon Wright robbed Andrade of a victory against Bute.

This was even worse in fact, since the Mexican should have won by TKO in the 7th, and then should have won on the scorecards anyway. At least in the Andrade-Bute fight Bute had kicked Andrade's ass up until the last minute of the fight.

Don't know who Prettyboy32 is. But there was a guy fighting who had the nickname "Pretty Boy". He knocked the stuffing out of a guy in an exciting fight.
