Comments Thread For: Zepeda's Promoter Confident He Will Capture WBO Crown

Jose "Chon" Zepeda is one of Mexico's most promising young boxers and next week will have the opportunity to fight for a world championship against another undefeated fighter Terry Flanagan.

Zepeda (23-0, 20 KOs) and Flanagan (27-0, 10 KOs) will battle for the vacant lightweight World Boxing Organization (WBO) championship on saturday July 11 in Manchester, England.

Zepeda who is promoted by both Zanfer Promotions and Top Rank will travel to Europe later today after a long training camp in the mountains of Big Bear, California.

Flanagan has the edge. I give him 2 points on the hometown advantage and Zepeda has KOd a bunch of nobodies. Zepeda's management should have got him some rounds, tougher fights. Mexican fighters don't box well as it is, and a bunch of KOs only stunts the learning process. Flanagan is not going to lay down and Zepeda can't outbox him.

I think when your in with a good counter puncher it will stop the other guy from throwing, he will then get outboxed or just tko'd.
