I favor Cotto because he has more experience, has cleaned up his defense, more dimensions, and way better footwork. Footwork, a tight defense, and a good jab will be the key for Cotto in this fight. Canelo refused to attempt to walk down Floyd and Lara with pressure and a high workrate, this would be his key to victory against Cotto but he just won't do it. I'd be picking Canelo if he had shown the ability or desire to walk down mobile fighters and cut off the ring but this isn't something in Canelo's arsenal.

Canelo is a 100% lock to beat Cotto. I've ran the numbers twice with both times they said Canelo stops Cotto in the 10th.

Mosely - hadn't won a fight in 3-4 years when he Canelo
Lopez - Was a 140 lb fighter
Trout - Props to him for taking him on , I had it a draw if it wasn't in Texas good chance Canelo doesn't get decision
Mayweather - No explanation needed
Angulo - Canelo Looked great but In his next fight Angulo list to Dela Rosa and hasn't done anything since kind of takes the shine off the win a bit
Lara - Don't care how they scored it no way Canelo won 7 rounds or that fight another gift decision.
Kirkland - Looked Great but Kirklands had 2 fights in 3 years plus he was sans Wolfe.
even though I'm a hater Nelos exciting to watch and I love his drive to be great I just think He's a a good fighter but he's a hype job as far as his popularity relating to his skill.

I just got off the phone with a psychic in Tiajuana. She works behind the Donkey Show place and she has had visions now for 4 days straight of Canelo getting clipped by Cotto's left to the temple causing the very same flying towel used in the Shane VS Margarito fight, to come flying into the ring.
Not sure WHY or HOW they got hold of the quit-towel but she claims it is already in Canelo's gym bag.
She goes on to say that Canelo will never be the same after the KO loss and that he will struggle with a drinking problem and have a few run ins with the law.
War Caguas Killa!

Canelo has an excellent defense. His head movement is elite and he takes many punches off his gloves. He takes the rest of the punches without any sign of being rocked. I know about Jose Cotto. He's no longer 19 and his defense and strength is better.
Trout, Lara, Mayweather, Angulo, and Kirkland; none of them were able to have any effect on him with their punches. Cotto is a quality opponent and if he lands a flush, clean left hook like he did on Geale, he would hurt Canelo. But I doubt seriously he will land a punch like that.
Cotto is more weathered. He has shown more signs of lacking resistance to good punches. Trout got Cotto's respect with his punching power and he is not a noted puncher. He didn't get as much respect from Canelo at all.
There's a shot Canelo throws that I love. He has a great left jab and uppercut, but his best punch is when he takes a little drop step and fires that hard right. First he'll aim to the chest and sternum. Eventually he'll go to the head. Cotto won't take that punch well. If Cotto is hurt, he doesn't want to wade through hell to win, his confidence will begin to crumble and he'll be done.Last edited by NEELZ; 07-04-2015, 07:16 PM.
