Gatti had some fuss around him cuz he was a former champion and he fought the biggest name at the time Oscar dela Hoya, I don't know if being white had something to do with this trilogy being what it is today, but I remember Rafael Marquez and Israel Vazquez almost killing each others in 4 terrific fights, but nobody mentions these fights today, there was also Barrera Morales, Corrales Castillo, Pacquiao Marquez and the list goes on and on, all these fights don't get the same praise that Gatti Ward got even though there was alot more skills involved in these fights than in Gatti Ward, but u never know.
You want some Cheese with that wine? Deal with it. Gatti Ward made history. 9th round was the best round recorded in Boxing history!!!! You obviously didnt watch the fight!

He was human and flawed so what? What boxer isn't? How many boxers are drunk or drug addicts or violent outside the ring? Many many of them so that means what they did in the ring didn't show something special? The greatest boxer who ever lived SRR was a violent womanizing wife beater, and what do you say about that huh? Even the cleanest living boxer today Bhop is an ex con who committed violent crimes in the past. If you don't respect Gatti for the heart and will he showed in the ring then you don't need to be on this site OR be a boxing fan.

He could box and he could brawl so you would think that he would be appreciated more than he is. Thats boxing fans for you, never satisfied.

R.I.P Gatti, glad you made it into the HOF, you earned it.
            green K.

Most do think that you have to be on the top of some P4P list to be a great fighter. Gatti had a huge fan base because he was exciting to watch. He gave all he had in the ring. He took beatings like a man. Gave beatings like a man too. You have to be a idiot to think Gatti was just an ordinary fighter. This man was in 4 FOTYs. Wars!!!! Fights that will never be forgotten. Ruelas, Robinson, Ward1, and Ward3 !!! With great fighters with great hearts.
