The fight might not happen at all if Canelo keeps insisting on 156 and Cotto 155.

Fights happening. 1lb will not stand in the way of tens of millions of dollars. This is nothing more than a mind game. A leverage posture. People don't flush this type of money down the toilet.

Yea I think Canelo will eventually cave in to Cotto's demand and fight at 155.

Canelo's last 3 fights have been there so no biggy.

Cotto can't retire, unless there is a stipulation in his contract allowing it .... He just signed a multi-year deal with ROC.

"Cotto confirmed to ESPN Deportes that his deal with Roc Nation Sports is a three-fight deal with a contract worth 50 million dollars. A source close to the situation also told ThaBoxingVoice.com that Cotto***8217;s signing bonus was 5 million dollars."

He probably will cave in for the $$$. And just because Canelos last three fights were at weight A, doesn't mean that he can still make weight A, fight at weight A, or be comfortable at weight A.

              Here's why:

Canelo is still a kid. He's 25 and growing by the months. He's not even the siize he will be in 5-years where as Cotto is 34 and fully grown.

Anybody who's over the age of 25 knows what I'm talking about. 25-30 = you change a lot in size.

I think another loss drops his stock, significantly. People will start the retirement grumbles.

A 25 year old that has been fighting professionally for 10 years is not a kid but yeah I get your point. Canelo will be fighting at Super Middleweight one day. He's at least 180 pounds in between fights.

He's a veteran boxer for the young age of 25. He's a young man indeed but if you ask your parents, they will tell you "he's still a kid."

I could easily see him finishing his career at SMW. If he doesn't drain himself to MW in the twilight of his career.

You think so? I'll ask them tomorrow when they wake up. I kind of want to knock on their door right now and ask, lol. Nah i'll get in trouble.
