Comments Thread For: Shabranskyy vs. Parker Early Results From Philadelphia

It was a good night for trainer Lamont Roach Sr., who saw two of his fighters post wins on the televised undercard bouts.

Roach's son, lightweight prospect Lamont Roach Jr. remained unbeaten after cruising to a six-round decision over Christian Santibanez. Scores were 60-54 (twice) and 59-55 in favor of the 19-year old Roach Jr. (8-0, 3KOs), who picks up his third win of 2015.

Training stable mate D'Mitrius Ballard had a tougher go of things in preserving his unbeaten mark, taking a six-round nod over Mexico's Josue Ovando. The 22-year old super middleweight prevailed by scores of 58-56 (twice) and an unacceptable cruise-control tally of 60-54. [Click Here To Read More]

This was probably one of the few fights ever where I was thinking each time Shabranskyy was hurt went down that there was no doubt he was going to win. His extensive AM career is too hard to overcome by the novice Parker even though most people probably thought they were seeing an upset. I was pulling for Parker cause I dig seeing setups shake up the apple cart.

Red flag on this one fellas. Shabranky barely standing up on noodles 2x 1st round ref doesnt stop it. Parker gets tired in the 3rd and instant stoppage.

I have all the respect in the world for guys who step into the ring and especially to do it for a living. But I can't for the life of me understand a professional boxer turning around and cowering from the opponent.

Well I thought it was because he just turned his back away and stayed there

Watch the fight. Parker basically quit.

                    Good recovery

Shabranskyy destroyed Parker in rounds 2 and 3.

Shabranskyy has great offensive skills and devastating power, but he needs to improve his defense.
