Who should Gennady Golovkin fight next?

It won't be Miguel Cotto, who will be fighting Saul Alvarez nor Andre Ward, who needs another warm-up. And it seems Carl Froch will retire.

    Who should Gennady fight?

I think Chris Eubank Jr or David Lemieux would be the best available opponents.

Hopkins was interested in a fight at a catch weight.

Rather than a low tiered MW, and assuming Lara will not get approved by HBO, how about go to 168 and fight Fedor Chudinov

There are a lot of good names out there, but I agree with you, OP, that Lemieux and Eubank JR seem like the most probable

Lemieux doesn't want it... "this year".

Ward shows no true interest for the fight.

Canelo just flat out said "in the future".

Cotto doesn't want to address the mandatory fight at all.

Who do you guys want him to fight that is willing to fight him, seriously? What's sad is that people actually have the audacity to hold this against Golovkin. "He hasn't fought anybody"... And why is that? Come on.

Obviously a unification with Lemieux would be ideal.

It's because whenever he doesn't get the fight he wants, he chooses a lower tiered opponent to stay busy rather than taking really short money to fight a MW or going up in weight and challenging himself.
