Don't think Vargas could've finished him, but dont agree with the ref's ability to say "never mind" lets go to the cards.

Fact is the fight was waved of after Bradley took a solid shot and got in really bad shape, Vargas was going for the kill with 10-7 seconds left, and the ref waived it off.

That there tells you it's a stoppage win. But then ref comes back and says "never mind" it was my mistake, so now HE SAYS HE MEANT THE FIGHT IS COMPLETED, and they go to the scorecards.

      I DON'T AGREE WITH THAT

The first one was his mistake and that should've been it, the rules are clear, and it was a stoppage win for Vargas, he can't come back and say "never mind" on this kind of situation,

The first waive off, that was the refs mistake not Vargas, so that should've been final, and the ref should not be allowed to say "never mind" and so he had to live with his mistake. .

It's ridiculous to let a ref come back and and change his mind especially on this kind case of having 7seconds to try and get a KO on a wobbly fighter. It's not right.

      Just as the fighters

You have to hold the refs accountable and held to their standards.

More than likely the fight would have ended with bradley hanging on to win but anything can happen in 7 seconds. I dont want to watch a rematch tho so im on the fence

I'm not going to ignore 11 rounds of work just to focus on the last 10-20 Seconds of the fight so that Vargas can have some type of OUT on why he lost. Nobody wants to see Vargas on HBO again, off to TruTV now Vargas!
Well said. But we're probably going to get the rematch that no one is asking for.

The ref never said "never mind". He said he made a mistake because he thought it was the final bell. So his original call wasn't stopping the fight because Bradley was clearly hurt but he was also clearly blocking and holding when the ref stopped the action. So why stop the fight when Bradley was clearly still defending himself well. He was stopping the fight because he thought he heard the bell.

You didn't even read my post.

No one is arguing about Bradley surviving, it's not even about that.

Ref stopped the fight with 7 seconds to go and practically said "My BAD, Never mind I made a mistake" we're going to the cards.

Thats wrong, fight ended there, and the ref should've lived with his mistake.

If you dont understand my bold, then you wont get it.

The ref stopped the fight because he thought he heard the bell. There was no "never mind".There was a mistake but no never mind. Your acting like he stopped the action because he believed Bradley was hurt so bad he couldn't defend himself. That was obviously not the case. The only problem here is a very old ref that made a ****** mistake.

I'm conflicted on this one! I wanted Bradley to win and he was winning clearly, but I'd rule this a no contest! ANYTHING can happen with one shot! Who knows if Vargas could've pulled away and got another punch off, no matter how unlikely! The ref literally didn't give Vargas his chance. Being old is no excuse. And the refs mistake benefited Bradley. Its not fair to either fighter! Unfortunate really!

Yes you are! Why just bring up Bayless then?
We all know the answer to that!
