Well in that case, I guess Jo Jo Dan and Gavin were just the best available? Maybe he gets a shot at Pacquiao, because the Mayweather fight is probably not gonna happen. Khan has a better following, and has fought better competition, even though he hasn't beaten all of his competitors.

Jo Jo Dan was his mandatory. Do you want him to give up his belt just because you didn't think it was a good fight? GTFO.

Gavin was a crap fight from the beginning. But the plan was always to fight a big fight in August, so it was just a stay-busy fight.

Pretty much everyone in the IBF rankings were taken anyway, it was Chaves or Gavin. Like it or not, Gavin is a more sellable fight in the UK.

And Brook has fought who exactly? Oh yeah, he sc****d past Porter (controversialy), and Porter beat Broner in a far less effective manner than Maidana did. Brook is a typical UK hype bubble chancing his way to a hopeful big payday. At least Khan has put himself out there.

Mayweather should vacate his WBA/WBC titles at 154 and fight Brook for all 4 belts at 147. It would be nice to see him add an undisputed title to his resume.

Those fights with Brook and Cotto make sense, will Cotto still have lineage after September though ? I'd like to see Cotto now and Brook afterwards. PAC will likely happen again though due to the finances involved.
