Comments Thread For: Povetkin Ready For Deontay Wilder, Rips Steroid Talk

Russian heavyweight contender Alexander Povetkin (29-1, 21 KOs) is ready for his mandatory shot at WBC titleholder Deontay Wilder (34-0, 33 KOs). Povetkin became the mandatory after last month's wipeout of Mike Perez in a single round. For his end, Wilder made the first defense of his title by knocked out Eric Molina in nine rounds.

The World Boxing Council will order negotiations for the month of October.

Wilder is said to be interested in having one more fight before facing Povetkin, who plans to wait for his title shot.

lets just say this..wilder upped his game during his biggest fight..stiverne is an educated fighter..an no amount of credit that u refuse to give wilder can dispute that..the question is can wilder do it again?? i say that last fight is no indincation due to him needing to impress and not being the best hunter in the world..but if he's there to maintain distance instead of hunt...THE GUY IS A PROBLEM..agree or disagree?
but either way povetkin doesnt need to backtrack on this word when the contract talks start and the testing ppl come knocking

        @ "Typical American ploy"

        Shots fired.

Their athletes are always getting popped for roiding but they're the first to throw around accusations.

Povetkin is a Sauerland fighter, they do Olympic style tests yearly. The only who hasn't been testing recently is Wilder.

Really? Did he leave in the last year?

Pretty sure he was with Sauerland in 2013 at least.

Edit: He's with "that Russian guy"
