He better have been. I know a lot of Floyd fans say he has nothing to prove so he can do whatever he wants for his last fight. Well I agree he has nothing left to prove really (besides taking a huge challenge if HE feels up to it and fighting GGG), but I don't agree he should be able to literally choose whoever he wants for the fight.

I mean are people really gonna pay to see him fight Mayfield? No.

Khan, Porter, Brook, Bradley, Thurman, Cotto, GGG...listed in no particular order. If Floyd chooses any of these guys nobody can complain, he's earned that right, but even he hasn't earned to go out fighting Mayfield while getting the money Showtime is giving him for the fight.

I don't care. He deserves a soft touch for his final fight. Hopefully he gets a KO his final fight.

In this modern day in boxing, being a "champion" doesnt mean much.

Only if its free tv he can fight a soft touch. He is supposedly the number 1 p4p fighter, his job is to fight the top guys.

It doesn't have the same meaning it had in the past since there are 4 champs per division now but at least these champs are better than the contenders, I mean if u r not a champ u r not even top 4.
Again, who's even close to bwating this numver of Champions? 25-0in championship fights out of 48 total fights, champ since his 18th fight and P4P best for 10-12 years, nobody in modern era is even close to that, not sure about old school fighters, but since the 70s till now, no one comes close.

not true, there have been many champions who were not even top 5. I agree mayweather has a nice record, but a lot of it has been exaggerated. He won belts from the likes of judah, baldomir, ortiz, guerrero. You cannot just look at the record and be like "well no one has done this before" you got to look at the fighters hes fought and when he fought them. He is an all time great, but lets not over exaggerate his accomplishments.

Victor Ortiz was the WBC champion after beating the undefeated Berto at the time and was ranked #2 by the ring magazine, nobody knew Ortiz' career was gonna go down the drain like that after the fight, before the fight it was a 50-50 fight and people wanted to see it cuz Ortiz, like Pacquiao, is a southpaw, Floyd himself wasn't ranked by the ring magazine after his 16 months of inactivity, who takes 16 months off and comes back to beat the champ and the #2 guy at the weight who had 8 year age advantage?

Baldomir was the WBC and lineal champion who was ranked #1 by the ring magazine, he was coming off the biggest win of his career against Judah, who was a very good fighter back then, Floyd beat him 12-0.

Guerrero was a mandatory for the WBC belt and Floyd had to fight him for it, plus he had to do time before the fight and it was a comeback fight, kinda like when Pacquiao fought Rios, difference is Guerrero was actually the interim champion and a former multi division champion was coming off the biggest win of his career against Berto, he was ranked #3 by the ring magazine btw coming into the fight, not Rios who never accomplished **** at 147 and was coming off a loss to C- level Alvarado.

Judah is the last opponent that was coming off a loss when Floyd fought him, still Judah in 2006 is not the same Judah of today, Judah was still a very good fighter, IBF champion and just 2 fights before that he was the unified welterweight champion and he lost to Baldomir and Floyd beat both guys who were the top guys at the time, not Floyd's fault their careers didn't go well after that, going into the fight they were legit #1 or 2 ranked champions
