Pat Russell stopping the round, not the fight...

Can someone explain this to me? I know that Bradley was winning the fight and was ahead on the scorecards, but when Russell stopped the fight I was thinking that was a TKO. Even if it was (admitted by himself) a mistake on his part, that never really stopped any ****ty calls being overturned in the past. Doesn't the fight only go to the scorecards after being stopped if it's before the 4th round? Or is this a case of that rule not being in place?

I understand it was a bad call on Russell's part but I mean more on the official rules of boxing, how was it allowed to go to the scorecards?

          I don't get that either

It should've been a Vargas TKO or a no contest

          Bradley was lucky

He thought he heard the bell for the end of the last round.

The round ends when the ref calls it after hearing the bell.

Do it goes to the scorecard like every other fight that goes the distance.

The ref screwed up bigtime, i think bradley would have survived but you don't do that to a man, anything can happen in eight seconds, why stop the fight misleading vargas? The ref shouldn't be allowed in the ring anymore he made a foolish blunder. When joe cortez started making these type of weird calls he knew it was time for him to retire and he did, russell should do the same his mind isn't as sharp as it once was and age is catching up to him

The problem is russell did the hand signal wave off that is done when a ref is stopping a fight on a tko, russell mind is not right and he needs to retire

Many ref's have mistaken the 10 second bell for the final bell of the round. Ref made one mistake, a mistake any man can make with just a tad loss of concentration. He saw a fighter hurt and he saw him trying to survive, from there he's waiting for the bell to end the round quick and not let the surviving fighter take any more punishment than he has after the bell when energies are high.
