Gatti Vs. Mayweather 10th Year Anniversary

So yesterday marked the 10 years since one of the most one sided beatdown iv ever seen (no disrespect to gatti), unbelievable skills set on display.

What do you guys remember about the fight? Did anyone actually see it live?

I remember watching it on sunday replay on sky sports as a 16 year old, after this fight i started to actually pay attention to boxing week in week out and take an interest in the sport, going to the boxing gym to get fit etc.

For me this was Floyds absolute prime physically, would have been good to see him take more fights at 140 which i think is his true weight class.

    (R.I.P Gatti)

That was an absolute mismatch, and it should never have happened tbh.

Can't believe some people actually thought Gatti would/could KO him.

Yup Floyd being aggressive throwing 5-6 punch combinations against prime 140 pac would have been a helluva fight.

I made sooooooooooooooo much money betting on Floyd by stoppage while on a trip to Vegas. That fight was as easy money as you will ever get. And I loved Gatti.

And so spawned the "Floyd's going to Gatti him!" prediction for every single Mayweather fight since.

No disrespect to Gatti, but there's a reason that Mayweather only "Gatti'd" him.

              Ive told this story before.

I ran into Floyd in Vegas before the ODH/Bhop fight. He was cool, didn't have the entourage back then. He said he would be fighting Gatti. On the plane ride home I sat next to Gatti. He said eventually the plan was a Floyd fight.

Gatti was very cool and we talked the whole fight.

During the fight, I was begging for the fight to be stopped. The crew watching with me couldn't believe it because they knew I was a big Floyd fan. But Gatti was so cool that I didn't want to see him get beaten up like that.

Lots of casuals were picking Gatti to win. Just goes to show you what casuals think is important in boxing.

The first fight I had ever seen of Floyd's. It was heartbreaking to see Gatti get so thoroughly out-classed like that. Floyd made one of the best first impressions ever, but it always serves as a reminder that I caught on way too late.

If that beating had been against the law, Floyd would've been arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.

                  .

I remember how those fireworks had Gatti shook before the fight! How you gonna fight after having your soul taken out like that.
