I'm curious because now he has just 3 remarkable fighters one of them fight exclusively on HBO that leaves Lemieux and Matthysse. So I don't think that this will be such a big deal. But... let it be

Oscar and Oscar's boxing magazine are going to try and sell a deal with MundoFox as a "major network deal"

I think a small network like truTV is making a mistake limiting themselves with a single promoter like TR. There's only so many quality fights they can give and you need to have the show on a regular basis.

truTV (which is affiliated with HBO) should combine TR, GB, and all the other non-Haymon promoters like Gary Shaw and Main Events so that they can build a meaningful program. As much criticism as the PBC receives they're still miles ahead of the competition (not taking purses into consideration, just bottom line).

It was a time buy from Arum.

Where did you get that information? TR is getting between $200,000-$400,000 per card. HBO setup the deal through Turner Sports.

My point though is that it's a mistake to limit themselves to TR who has a shallow roster. GB, ME, Shaw need to be involved.

Yeah, both Dan Rafael and Steve Kim reported at the time that this was NOT a time buy.

I don't think Top Rank's roster is too shallow for this series, given that it's only for 24 shows over 3 years, so just 8 shows a year.

I think they've done a pretty solid job of match-making so far and they're already halfway through their 8 shows this year.

Not sure what's on their next fight card....there was some discussion of Jesse Hart fighting on a TruTv card in July, but haven't seen much about it recently.
