I can think of one eastern european fighter thats a legitimate champion... Sergei L. Wlad sure isn't.

Valuev was beaten by Ruiz. And if you thought Valuev won, he didn't win in convincing fashion. Enough said.

It's funny Team Russia is claiming Sergei, when the guy is from Belarus. Two seperate countries.

Sultan Ibragimov is one of the most promising rising stars of the division and there are many more young bucks like him that would love to get a chance with a top American opponent.

Let's face it, Eastern Europe has become the new mecca for heavyweight boxing. Russians fighters on average are tougher, hungrier, and harder working than the American heavyweights. We see it in MMA and now in boxing. Eastern Europeans are the best big men on the planet, hands down.

Long gone are the days of Mildenburger and Alfredo Evangelista, days when the best Europe had to offer was cannon fodder for the likes of Muhammad Ali and Larry Holmes.

Eastern European heavyweights are usually in better shape than their American counterparts (or British counterparts sometimes) too, often with barely noticeable flab around their middle.

If the loss of Brewster to Liakhovich isn't a serious wakeup call to American heavyweights, I don't know what will be!

Isn't Oleg fighting Rahman next too? All the belts may be going to E. Europe soon.
