  • Comments Thread For: Jacobs, Mora on Board To Create Fireworks in Bout

It’s rare that two fighters go into a bout sharing the exact same viewpoint. Daniel Jacobs and Sergio Mora hardly differ in opinion on what their August 1 clash represents—judgment day for a young titlist on the rise, and one last shot for a veteran former titlist who knows his way around a boxing ring.

The two collide for a secondary version of the middleweight title at Barclays Center in Jacobs’ home borough of Brooklyn, New York. The bout will air live in primetime on ESPN, as the chief support to a welterweight bout between former World junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia and Brooklyn’s own Paul Malignaggi.

mora's clearly done. he got beat up in his last fight vs abraham han. he had no movement because he was wearing a sergio knee brace and got dropped and got a dubious decision. haymon's counting on people not knowing that. haymon thrives on ignorance.

Mora is crafty so he very well may take Danny the full 12 while getting beat on the entire way.

yes it sounds like such a compelling match up but don't worry the main event of garcia-malignaggi makes up for it...because it's free! how can anyone complain?

This is a guy who arguably lost to Abraham Han and was beaten twice by Brian Vera and now he gets a shot at the title?

The sad thing is that this is still a better matchup than Golovkin vs Willie Monroe.

                    It's hardly a real title.
