Danny Green will fight Slovakian Tamas Kovacs in Melbourne in August but the four-time world champion says a rematch with Anthony Mundine remains his "end game".

The 42-year-old announced the fight, his first since 2012, at Crown Casino in Melbourne on Wednesday, with the bout to take place at Hisense Arena on August 19.

Green said that he would have his hands full with the light heavyweight, who has a professional record of 26 wins and one loss, but getting Mundine back in the ring for a rematch of their 2006 bout remains the Perth boxer's goal.

"Worst Nightmare". True! Anybody who loses to Green will probably die of embarrassment

"Four-time world champion?" He held a WBA light heavyweight alphabet belt he never defended and lost every other legit title shot he's had. Getting pretty loose with our definition of "world champion" these days. It's like kids who get awards in school for usually showing up: everybody's a "world champion" these days

42yrs old / 3yr layoff. Smells like a come back through need rather than a choice. Doesn't bode well.
