I don't think you guys quite have a grasp on the concept of what a gift in boxing means. If you think getting head butted until your eyelid is about to fall off is getting a gift, you need to first learn the definition and then go watch some fights that actually have guys getting gift decisions.

A gift is when you get a win that you haven't done anything to deserve. For instance, if Lundy, despite being down on the cards and only causing damage with vicious, Holyfield style head butts had won, that would be considered more of a gift than if Herrera, having done more to be up on the cards and being the one to have his eyelid damn near butted off, had won. Get it?

Unless you forget, Lundy didn't cause these cuts by any legal means. That alone shows there is no gift here. Lundy didn't win the fight and get screwed you ******s. Herrera got fight ending headbutts by a guy coming in with his head. The important distinction is that Herrera was winning on the cards and thus...amazing I know...won the fight. If you think that's getting a gift...

I know the rule has long been in place, but damn, kinda seems f**ked up awarding a winner (and handing a fighter a loss) after barely 4 rounds.

I think it's complete bull**** that you can score that fifth round. I thought it was 2-2, with Herrera taking 1 and 4 and Lundy taking 2 and 3. Round one was close. No ****ing way you can score that fifth, it was dead even with a minute to go
