I could even see GB using Lemieux as a gauntlet for Golovkin to get to Alvarez.
... I think that they only wait until GGG fades away... In a year or two...

If GGG is that good he wouldn't fade away in "a year or two".

Lemieux can ****, but thats about it. His technical skills are not on par compared GGG's.

I'd expect another ko. Lemieux should avoid GGG for the moment, if he wants to keep that belt.

One never knows -- once he's OK, then (a minute later) he's shot overnight...

i've never seen a promoter beg for a mandatory defence before lol

i wish oscar would take the same approach to his fighters' careers as he took to his own - no fear of losing

In this case, I can understand: Lemieux is young and green, doe... Not a surprise that they don't want him to fight GGG right now... Not a surprise...

I think he would but he wouldn't move down to 160. Fighter usually go up if they go somewhere not up, sometimes when they figure out that they jumped too big and they are beaten in a new weight class they move back down but other than that it's not usual and I think Golovkin won't move up to Ward to 168 because at this very moment with a fight with Canelo vs Cotto on the horizon a Ward fight is too high risk for too little reward for him and it might would fuck up his chances to a fight against Cotto v Canelo winner if the WBC decides so.
I don't blame him for wait out the winner of that fight I only said that I won't holding my breath on a GGG vs Lemieux fight because it's not a step up for Golovkin and I already want to see him figh a real elite opponent because the hype around him is enormous compared to his actual pro achievements so far.

All Golovkin fans do is sit around and talk about the guys that won't fight him. As if that goes on his resume and makes him any greater of a fighter. I don't really understand it. Now wgen u mention guys that will fight him, there's akways some excuse as to why thar fught can't be made. Hahahahaha.

There is no need for GGG to wait for the Cotto-Canelo winner because he will not have the MW title, GGG will because Cotto will have been stripped.

There will not be a Ward fight until it reaches PPV status or GGG permanently moves to SMW.

GGG is the ONLY Elite fighter at 160. There is no one else on his level. For Lemieux or Lee or Quillin or any other 160 fighter to prove themselves to be Elite, they much fight Golovkin. Unfortunately none of them have the balls to get in the ring so far.

I miss the days when a fighter didn't need 6 months off to recover from what used to be considered a decent fight but now is considered to have been a 'war'. yes, the Lemieux - N'Dam fight was a good one, but it was what all decent fights used to be like. Two warriors, each trying to prove they are the best. Now we are more likely to see two boxers trying not to be hit than a real fight. Fighters today are soft and pampered. They are not hungry, they are not trying to prove they are the best in the world. They don't want to take any risks. They are an embarrassment to the greats of the past.
