Comments Thread For: Andriy Kotelnik Not Impressed, Fires Jabs at Usyk

Tensions were always high between K2 Promotions, specifically the Ukrainian side, and ex-WBA light welterweight champion Andrey Kotelnik, also from Lviv, Ukraine.

A couple of days ago, the now-retired 2000 Sydney Olympics silver medalist fired right in the direction at WBO #3 cruiserweight contender Olexander Usyk (7-0, 7 KOs), the 2012 London Olympics heavyweight gold winner. Usyk is promoted by K2 Promotions.

First off: More people mention Lomachenko today than Usyk.

Second: Needs to step up? The guy has 7(!!) fight ffs! 7. Now there will be guys who will criticize ever prospect under 10 fight who didn't "step up" yet because Lomachenko who has a really uncommon build up strategy?

Let's see who Kotelnik fought on his first seven fights. Murderers row. Guys like Josef Kubovsky (13-48-6) or Abdelilah Benabbou (1-1-1). Wow, this guy didn't afrai to step up, he was no show man, he proved himself i the ring against these guys!

Kotelnik's first seven opponents' resume added: 58-138-23
Usyk's first seven opponents' resume added: 140-51-5
And he has the nerve to criticize Usyk's level of competition :*******:
He is probably jelly at him or I don't know...

          He has a point.

Usyk has been fighting soft competition compared to Lomachenko and Beterbiev, who has already beaten two former world champions.

If he really is going to be a big star, he should be fighting some decent veterans at this point.

I don't even know who he is but he has less then ten fights. And in my opinion it is rather, or should I say, really ridiculous to criticize him at this point. Everyone he has fought also had a winning record. How many fighters can make that claim with their early fights?
