Comments Thread For: Mayweather Dangles Belt For Thurman/Porter vs. Spence

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is placing the full might of his resources behind rising welterweight contender Errol Spence Jr. (17-0, 14KOs).

Mayweather Promotions was the lead promoter for Saturday's Premier Boxing Champions card at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. In the PBC televised co-feature on NBC, Spence blew out late replacement Phil Lo Greco in three rounds.

Spence is now being positioned to return on the undercard to Mayweather's next pay-per-view, which is scheduled for September 12th at the MGM Grand.

somewhere today it was reported that groves had a minor injury. i fully expect brook vs rios to fall through and floyd vs brook for the undisputed ww title and jack vs groves and porter vs spence on the undercard.

Serious question. Is Spence promoted by Mayweather? He seems to be hyping up his name a little bit too much, its weird.

They're all ranked high in the WBA, at least. So it could easily happen for the org that ranks a dead guy.

The alphabet organizations don't care as long as they get paid and since Floyd has the pull, it can be done. Especially in the case of Thurman who is the regular Champ.

this stuff is usually done behind closed doors. moving guys up the rankings inexplicably so that they can fight for a belt but floyd is just throwing it out in the open because he knows the wbo will listen to his money.
