ITT: More people saying that yet another boxer does not have to fight GGG. That's fine, but please remember that when you say that GGG hasn't fought anyone of significance yet.

22-june...Gennady Golovkin: I'll fight Carl Froch at Wembley

It's going to be a long time before Wembley sells out again for a boxing match.
I think fighters from other countries saw how big the Froch - Groves event was and thought ' i wouldn't mind a piece of that'. It won't always be like that though. Froch Vs Groves had all the right ingredients for boxing fans and casual fans.
The Froch - Groves saga caught everyone's imagination here because of the massive build up and coverage it got.
Newspapers covered it a lot (which is pretty rare for boxing here). Both guys were on chat/talk shows talking about the fight. Throw in the fact both guys really hated each-other, and there had been a controversial first meeting...it caught the imagination.
It go so much coverage, that it quickly became a 'i've got to be there, just so i can tell people i went' event. I knew about 3/4 large separate groups of lads that went. Out of each group there was only about 1 or 2 real boxing fans..they rest tagged along due to the build up and the buzz they had picked up on.
They wouldn't be the same if Froch faced Golovkin. The big buzz wouldn't be there. There isn't that that needle between the fighters that would attract casuals.
That said, it's a massive fight and would easily sell out stadiums in the UK. Just not Wembley.

No way Froch takes this...not a chance. He can say all his tough guy crap but he knows what is going to happen. He will retire or take on someone else like JCC Jr. He does not have the speed, skill, or footwork to get away from GGG's shots and good as a chin he may have, he will get stopped guaranteed. I will bet anyone Martin Murray has a better chin than Froch does. Froch has not been KO'ed but he has been hurt, wobbled and dropped several times. And none of those by anyone who hits close to how GGG can. Froch has no great legacy and he sure as hell is not HOF worthy. I also love how he is big for his weight, has fought at 175 once before but yet won't say a word or fight any of the 175 guys right above him (Kovalev, Stevenson, etc.). He knows he will get KOed. He is a huge SMW which is also why his chin has kept him upright for most of his career. I would give him his props 100% if he beats GGG, absolutely. I just see Froch taking a sustained beating and getting stopped in mid-late rounds.

And then after Froch, he goes over to Oakland and punks Ward in front of his home town??? Nah, he drops back down to 160 and continues to chase Cotto and Canelo. Here's the problem though, he needs to shut up about people not wanting to fight him for whatever reasons. He's makig business decisions himself by fighting 168lb Froch but not Ward.

He's 38 years old. That's probably the equivalent of 68 years old where you work in the Argos stock room - wouldn't you be contemplating retirement at that age?
