Classy move by Ward. I don't understand the hate he gets. He seems like a really good guy.

People see other people that live an honest, righteous life and out of jealousy try to find whatever faults they can find in them and then cry out to world how this person isnt as good as they seem. Just so they can sooth the insecurities they have about how pathetic their lives are.

Very classy move. Bear in mind that Andre isn't somebody who's made tons of cash from the sport and he's made nothing in almost two years.

Much respect for a guy making ~90% of the purse to cut the other guy a break like that.

Classy move by Ward, much classier than Smith was by showing up in terrible shape for the fight. That was insulting on Smith's part.

Wow, talk about walking the walk. Didn't see any mention on his social media outlets so this must be an act of integrity rather than a PR move (IE: Broner giving homeless people money while his friends record it for YouTube). After being disrespected by Smith, making little money in 3 years, paying legal fees, medical bills, raising kids, etc, he's either a true man of conviction or just out of his mind. I like to think the former.

Does Ward not like money or something?

Probably felt bad about the beating he put on Smith. Either that or he feels he already lives comfortably and knows with Roc Nation he has a few more multi million dollar paydays and Smith doesn't really have anything left. It could also have been that Smith personally apologized to Ward for not making weight and explained the situation, and then Ward decided to give him his money back.
