Comments Thread For: Rances Barthelemy Drops, Dominates Antonio DeMarco

MGM Grand, Las Vegas - In a battle of former champions, Rances "Kid Blast" Barthelemy (23-0, 13KOs) proved to be too fast, too accurate and too elusive for Antonio DeMarco (31-5-1, 23KOs). Barthelemy dropped DeMarco in the fourth and boxed his way to a wide unanimous decision in their ten round junior welterweight contest. All three judges saw it 99-89.

Both fighters had their moments in the first round. Barthelemy was very selective with his shots, using a long jab to sneak in quick punches to the head and body as DeMarco was side open often.

DeMarco needs to be banned from TV. That dude has nothing left. Stick a fork in him, he is done.

I like how Barthelemy mixes up the speed on his combos. He's getting better since the controversial fight with Usmanee.

Antonio DeMarco had a good run in boxing and won a world title, but its now very evident that he's done and should retire from the sport. He's still a great person and I wish him and his family the best.

Rances looked good, light on his feet and big at the weight. I wonder if Broner really trained, could he make 140. None of that "I'm a star", Las Vegas gym, make the other guy cut weight mentality. Rances looked a little short on power, he hit DeMarco with his complete repertoire, repeatedly, with only one knock down. Who's next?

broner was supposed to fight this guy but i'm sure he would have schooled broner so they went with the whole "lets drain porter and get a ref who lets us cheat nonstop" plan

I agree, even though DeMarco can take a punch. Barthelemy has just moved up from super featherweight, so he could fight at lightweight. There's probably more money at 140 though.
