Comments Thread For: K. Porter: Broner Will Quit, Get KO'd or Get Saved

MGM Grand, Las Vegas - Kenny Porter, father and trainer of Shawn Porter (25-1-1, 16KOs), is confident that Adrien Broner (30-1,22KOs) will never see the twelfth and final round later tonight. The fight will headline the next edition of Premier Boxing Champions (PBC on NBC), which starts at 4:30PM EST.

The "Battle of Ohio" as some have named it, has become a lot more tense with each passing day. The two camps have fired harsh statements at each other, with both sides confident of walking away with a brutal victory.

Broner is a mug. Nobody cares if Kenny is wrong, he is only echoing what we all hope.

I think Porter is overrated, yet so is Broner. It's really boxer versus brawler and we've seen who generally wins this one, unfortunately.

Broner is the only one who is going to look like a fool win, lose or draw.
But u expect Porter to put down a beating. Unless somehow Broner actually uses his legs and starts moving.

Broner ain't really that tough, did you see him rolling around on the floor versus Chino trying to have him disqualified, he was desperate to get out of the ring. Paulie was able to go life and death with him, in a fight that could have gone either way. If you can't make Paulie respect your power you're struggling.

My only concern is Porter gassing he keeps a high pace yet I seem to remember him gassing after 8 versus Brook.

He took clean punches frequently from Maidana who is a bigger and better puncher than Porter. Broner was getting tagged and hurt repeatedly by the overhand right which Porter isn't exactly known for. Porter leaps in with the left hook and Broner's tendency to pull straight back could get him into trouble if he isn't careful about it like Brook was who does the same thing. I actually think Broner is the superior fighter on the inside, his short punches are cleaner, sharper and more eye-catching. Whether he is able to keep up a work rate due to Porter's strength is what I'm concerned about

Something to remember about Porter gassing vs Brook is that Brook clinched a lot, and imposed his strength and weight on Porter. Broner could do the same thing, but I don't see him clinching as much as Brook did. Hopefully Porter has learned how to handle clinches better as well.

Not if Broner gets away with Clinching the whole time, one thing people say is Porter is a better boxer then Chino, but if he just bulldozes his way in then he might keep getting clinched. Chino faints and changes levels going low and like Floyd said has a good jab. Remember he caught Broner with the first punch by fainting like hes going to the body then going up top.
