Andy lee confirms saunders clash in limrick

Andy lee has just announced his next fight against billy joe saunders will take place on the 19th of September at t****nd park stadium in limerick Ireland. Lee can be looking forward to a big crowd in front of his home fans as the news is trending on twitter at the moment. This will be lees first defense of his WBO title after peter quilen failed to make weight in his last outing. It wont be all clean sailing for Lee against Saunders,But should he get past this mandatory defense their will is the potential for some huge showdowns in the future, most notably a unified fight whit GGG. But until then Andy Lee can enjoy a big stadium fight in front of his home fans and the possibility of being in one of the biggest fights in Munster and Ireland for number of years.

Don't think Andy has anything but a punchers chance to be honest, I really rate Saunders.

I think you underestimate Lees boxing ability. Lee has always been a dangerous puncher,it used to be the left to the body that was his money punch. But i dont think he goes in their looking for the KO, he sets up his punches well, and makes his opponents pay when they miss or lunge in. Billy joe saunders so far looks very solid indeed, but really the only names he has really beaten is in his last 2 fights. saunders is very good no doubt about it, but he hasnt boxed anywhere near the level of lee, and im not saying lee is a world beater and bla bla bla, but he has defiantly been boxing at the top for a number of years now and has been through the set backs and all that already, as you said lee has a punchers chance, lee is at his most dangerous when hurt and under pressure, i can see saunders maybe outboxing lee for the first half of the fight, but as we seen whit eubank jr i dont think he will have the discipline and maybe even stamina to keep it going, this will be a whole new world for saunders in ireland, a stadium fight,in limrick, and a full house of drunken irish fans, i predict saunders losses his composure half way through and slips up. i think maybe he will hurt lee and try pounce on him,as he lunges in he will get caught.

Oh I'm not underestimating Lee, seriously! (I'm Irish too)

But I think Saunders is THAT good. He's remind me a lot of Canelo actually ( of course he's a orthodox) in the way he picks his shots and he is probably the slickest southpaw currently in boxing not counting Terrence Crawford and Rigondeaux(people will dispute this because he's white) .

I don't think he should be at 160 though and he could pay the price against lee. If he was cut up like a Bradley/Brook/Broner/Floyd/Manny (didn't want to seem biased) i.e a top level guy, I believe he would be at 154.

Will be a great fight regardless of who wins. I think its crazy but this fight would be 10x bigger if Eubank Jr had of won and was fighing Lee, sad really.

P.s try not to post in big blocks of text, I don't mind but others will crucify you.

I like Lee's chances in Limerick more so than London. In London I don't think Warren would've let Andy escape with his title even with a KO. There's a lot riding on this fight financially for Frank.

Ya im still not completely sold on saunders. I think even if he beats Lee he still has alot to do to earn his name. unless he beats Lee in an unbelievable fashion.

Even if he beats Lee he must follow it up whit one of the big names in the divsion, this tip toeing around at the domestic would not be good enough if he wins he needs a big name.

But i just cant see him stepping up to this level yet whit no big names on his resume.

i mostly post from the xbox so thats why the text is like that most of the time its been said to me already haha
you gonna go to the fight??

I'd love the winner of this to fight the winner of Lemieux and N'Dam.

Yeah definitely, how often can you see a MW title fight in Ireland .

I like the way Saunders has been building himself. The last 4-5 guys were undefeated and now he's stepping up.
