Smith came in overweight the same reason Rodriguez did.

They knew they had no chance.

He may be trying a Salido. I wouldn't be surprised.

It seems possible that he might have considered it. I don't know though, maybe he should have weighed in at 180 so we'd know for sure.

He'd rather get his pay deducted and have the strength to not get countered into a stoppage than make weight and attempt to win a title.

Ward had to deal with this and the weight disadvantage with Edwin Rodriguez too.

Pretty sure the titles aren't on the line because of the catchweight BS.

It's at a catch weight so Ward can see how he feels above 68 and therefore set up a potential move to 175. Smith is a slob, he wanted a CW at 170, too.

Not like he came ripped , he is just out of shape and will pay for it with a TKO , easy work for Ward in this one.

Lol @ Paul Smith. What a chump. All this guy is getting out the fight is a decent payday, and hes managed to give 20% away before the fight even starts

Unless he actually believes he can win the fight by being 4pounds heavier, despite being about 5 years from his pretty average prime and facing a guy who is superior in almost every way
