Please, i'll take this over some other MW who can't punch or some Rubio/Lemiuex caliber type of fighter. Anything to bring him up to 168 and get out of that bummy division. Yeah Ramirez is not a superstar but in the very least he can punch, he is tall, he has long reach and he is fresh/young. Make this fight at 168, it's a good testing the waters fight for GGG, hopefully he wins and stays there, I just want to see him vs good fighters, i'm not a GGG hater.
Looking like Golovkin/Rameriz in September

You think these are lacking context?
"Just swerve Golovkin like the plague. He punches like a mule. I don’t need to be in with him. Dangerous fight."
"It was tongue in cheek back then. I was being a bit cheeky and you can take those comments with a pinch of salt. What I will say though is this guy can ****ing punch: he's dangerous and if he can be avoided we'll avoid him. I'll stand by that and I don't give a ****."Comment

Back when he fought Rosado, K2 made offers to Edwin Rodriguez & Thomas Oosthuizen, neither would've been big money fights. Today Golovkin is still in a situation where he can't draw enough to lure in certain fights. A win over Rameriz raises his profile more so than Lara, Heiland, or Johnson - in particular with the Mexican market (assuming Froch and the winner of Lemieux/N'Dam turns him down which it looks they will). Down the road that gets Golovkin that much closer to ppv.
Arum says he wouldn't hesitate to make this fight. Rameriz says he'll take it. K2's publicist likes it. We'll probably start to hear some real chatter on this after Rameriz KO's Derek Edwards next week. If Floyd steps off Sept 12 this year, this will be Arum's flag. Even if Rameriz loses, he's young enough to recover. But if he beats GGG, Arum has another major star. TR's alternative option is to risk Rameriz vs Abraham/Steiglitz winner in Germany.Comment
