Following the death of Leavander Johnson (2005) the NSAC put in a rule that fighters above 135 would have to wear 10oz. There was a period of time when WW fights in NV were taking place with 10oz.

The rule was later changed prior to Margarito-Cotto I - one of the sticking points as to where the fight would be held was the size of the gloves. I believe Cotto wanted 8oz, but Nevada had the 10oz rule. Arum had to petition for the provision and it got changed landing Vegas the fight - and it's been like that since.

I'm sure 10oz could be worn if both agree, but I'm unclear in what cases 10oz could be forced - it seems that if two camps are in severe disagreement about the size - and don't sign off on 8oz in the fight agreement - then 10oz might be what the default is (at 135 and above). Hope someone else who might know more about it might clarify that

AB makes it hard to like him sometimes because of his foolishness, but Kenny Porter comes off as a douche also. He absolutely seems to be living his dreams through Shawn, and I personally believe that he is holding him back. I've thought he was a moron since he let an opponent watch his son train. Shawn seems like an Ok dude though.

With that said, after seeing the full video, I believe that a Broner K Porter fight would be awesome as long as it lasted. There is real hate and animosity there.
