Thurman vs Spence on the Mayweather undecard?

Mayweather is a great fighter and an incredibly rich fighter. He doesn't run boxing and decide who fights for world titles because he used to be the owner of that title. That would be like Cotto dropping his middleweight title and naming what two fighters will fight for it. Spence may be the greatest welterweight in the world but at this time he hasn't earned the right to fight for a vacant world title just because Mayweather says he is so good. Who are the best fighters Spence has defeated to earn him a title shot? Where is he ranked? Title shots should be based on actual accomplishment and not on future potential.

I think Spence has a good shot but it might be a bit too soon for him.

Exactly! I wouldn't blame Spence for passing for now. It's just to much of a jump from his current comp. If they did fight I would still give Spence a good shot at an upset. He's a very skilled fighter.

Isn't that what Top Rank did for Lomenchako after his 1st professional fight.

Thurman next fight after collazo should be khan, brook, maidana,or Porter - broner winner.

Fight does nothing for Thurman. It's everything for Spence.

I like the kid and think he's going to be real good, but this might be a too early step up for Spence. But then again, he needs to step up the comp. Would be a good scrap

Seems too early for that one, maybe Late 2016 after a few more step ups for Spence Jr. They will meet if both live up to their potential so no need to rush it really. That could be a special fight in the near future though!
