Comments Thread For: Fury's Coach: Mayweather Won't Get Up For Khan

Peter Fury, uncle and trainer of undefeated heavyweight Tyson Fury, has serious doubts about Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) being capable of landing a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs) on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

After Khan struggled a bit in his twelve round unanimous decision win over Chris Algieri last month, Fury does not believe Mayweather will get motivated enough to face the Bolton fighter.

He feels Khan should instead fight his domestic rival, IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (34-0, 25KOs).

Mayweather just needs to stopbull****ting and just retire already before one of these clowns ****s around and beats him. No need to fight anymore. You whooped Pacquiao's ass. Go out like a g with a win off Pac.

Calm down, it's his last fight in September.

I'd actually like Floyd to fight Brook and retire as the undisputed welterweight champion. If he does that successfully he should then retire or fight one more time and shoot for the coveted 50-0 record. He'd leave the sport as one of the most accomplished fighters in the sports history.

This makes complete sense and I am sure like the rest of us Floyd just see's Khan as a joke and again after such a mediocre performance against a hand picked opponent there is no way even the most deluded would buy it.Khan's advises need to get him fighting at his level and he is lucky the Brook fight is there, he should stop running from that because as I see it time is running out for him as anyone with a half decent dig will put all his dreams to bed.

Canelo couldn't even hit Mayweather while he stood in front of him, why would anyone want to see that rematch. I would go with Cotto before Canelo.

Mayweather stood in front of Canelo and still could not do anything. Besides CJ Ross, the blind judge, the fight was a wipeout! No one wants to see that. Floyd does very well with orthodox fighters and he will beat any of them, whether it is exciting or not, that is for the casual fans to hate on. Cotto is a natural left hander and gave Floyd problems and he will definitely give him problems again. That would be a dangerous rematch for Floyd. Keith Thurman or Danny Garcia maybe more dangerous fights than Khan because Floyd can actually be hurt with one punch.

                    Good points .....

The most prominent is that Khan-man, when he hand-picks opponents, better make sure he doesn't continue to get mauled, because it defeats the purpose. Khan's gotta be one of the few to have a tough go with every light-touch he takes.
