The featherweight unification lost a lot of its luster without Walters, so I'd rather a CW happen than the fight not happen at all.
Would a CW be acceptable for a Loma-Walters fight?

In this situation, yes. Walters can't make 126. It's a fight we all want to see. Have the fight at a max weight of 127. Walters can then go to 130, Loma back to 126. Good for fans and quality nice payday for both.Comment

That sums it up nicely.
And just to satisfy my curiosity Dunn, how do you see the fight playing out?Comment

I was thinking about it and NO it should not be at a catchweight imo. It's funny that people are blaming Lomachenko if the fight does not happen next.
If Top Rank still wants to have a go at it and make it happen next, I have no problem with that as long as it is not a CW. Who cares if it's not a unification bout anymore, just make it for the WBO and Ring belts (the #1 and 2 going at it).
Loma's team better be careful about Walter's rehydration.
If Walters feels he can't make 126 anymore, then he should simply move up and try to capture a belt at 130. I don't think Loma will stay at 126 that long anyway. They can then meet at 130. 130 has a lot of great potential fights.Comment

I will be disappointed if they can't make this fight. Loma won olympic gold at 130, right? So what's the issue?
Fact of the matter is, title or no title... Loma-Walters is BY FAR the best fight for BOTH men.
Loma should be more concerned about making the most difficult fights and not just chasing titles for the sake of it... If Walters can not make 126, I think they should try for a CW... As both men are managed by Top Rank, it's a no brainer that Arum wants this fight to happen...The only thing going through his mind is: If I match Loma with Walters who has outgrown 126, does he potentially jeopardize all the work I've put into Loma... He has to believe Loma will win as I'm sure Loma believes he will win.
Walter is one the best fighters right now, but the bigger money is with Loma down the line.Last edited by darius45; 06-16-2015, 05:22 PM.Comment

This forum is hilariously full of bs sometimes.
All this concern for Loma, as if he is a small guy. He comes in at nearly 140. The weight between Rigo and everyone he fights is bigger than Loma vs Walters would be, but Rigo must move up do
floyd? GGG coward! cotto? GGG or coward!
GGG to 168? He is a small tiny puny MW do
Consistency would be nice
Loma vs walters is a damn good fight at 126 or 130, both supremely talented big dudes. So stop it. Loma doesnt need the compassion. He is no tiny dude on a island like RigoComment

I feel a similar way, let Lomachenko get more belts at 126. Let Walters get a 130 pound belt and in maybe a 2 years Walters still at 130 Lomachenko can go and up and fight for Walters 130 pound belt.Comment

I wanted to see this fight bad before Saturday's fights - I still do, but now there are other fights that I want to see Walters in, and I don't mind as much if this fight is not made immediately. No to a CW...try again at 130Comment
