Either way, I don't want to see old legends in the ring anymore (unless they can actually still do it like Hopkins). It sucks seeing your boxing idols fight at a much lower level and get dominated by fighters they wouldn't even blink against in their prime days.
Thought the same thing..(edit)wait I thought you said embarrassing.

The card will feature Tyson vs Toney as the main event for the WBC title eliminator, winner faced Deontay Wilder

The co Main event will be a rematch between Iran Barkely and Roberto Duran

and the opening bout will be Antonio Margarito vs Ricardo Mayorga

If Mike Tyson announced a comeback fight and it was PPV, i'm certain it might outsell almost any active boxer today, or if it didn't, i'm still certain it will be watched by more people, whether that be PPV, illegal streams or free broadcast in some countries.

The guy is a huge name. Everyone knows Mike Tyson. Manny and Floyd might have had some crossover appeal outside of boxing fans, but Tyson is an iconic infamous figure.

Those are the facts, sadly. A guy who was shot even like 15 years ago and hasn't fought for 10, who was probably in his prime something like 26 years ago could probably outsell almost every current fighter. That shows where boxing is really at right now.

I don't think it happens anyway.

          Romney vs Tyson anyone?
Remember when Toney/Hopkins almost happened? During Toney's cruiserweight resurgence, after he beat Jirov. They were going back and forth about the street cred of Philly vs Detroit. I was disappointed when the matchup fell through.

Two grown ass men going on about "street cred". Setting wonderful examples to black children and teens.

And black people wonder why they get laughed at.

Come on guys lets be serious. I hope this is a joke, Tyson hasn't fought in 10 years whereas Toney has been keeping active and training everyday. He's still got the skills and easily Tyson. Neither of these guys are anywhere near their prime.

Tyson is famous but his time has gone, he would be lucky to get 50k buys for this fight, no major promoter or station will push it or promote it or get behind it, the only place where they push this type of stuff is in Russia and Japan they like pushing washed up fighters in fights.

When Tyson was past his prime his numbers started to drop steeply, in 2000 when he fought Golota he did like 450,000 buys, his next fight was against Lennox Lewis doing well over 1 million buys.

After he lost to Lewis he had 3 super low ppv buy shows and his appeal was done.

Tyson vs. Etienne on Showtime PPV did 100,000 ppv buys.
Tyson vs. Williams 150,000 ppv buys
Tyson vs. McBride 250,000 ppv buys

I reckon if Tyson goes on another charade and talks about eating another mans children along with fighting with the press, ppv sales would be through the roof

LOL, but **** yea I agree. BKB Tyson vs Toney could be interesting. Otherwise its just a bunch of old ****s in need of money bouncing around the ring demeaning their legacy in the sport.

I'll tell you what likely happened here.

Toney came up with the idea and was pestering Mike, Mike agreed jokingly and Toney thinks it's serious.

Get ready for the videos of Toney calling Mike a ***** when it doesn't happen.
