It is Ward that is fighting Paul Smith, and it is for a reason. Ward hasn't fought since November of 2013, and he needs to (safely) find out how ring ready he is: hence, he schedules an almost guaranteed win for his first fight back. Also, about GGG; if what I've read about his background is true, he has seen and experienced a truly harsh childhood and youth, and there isn't a thing about any fighter that he may face in the ring which could begin to un-nerve him. It is GGG's opponents who must wonder if they have been adequately tempered to withstand the challenge which GGG presents inside the ring. And this includes Andre Ward - whether or not Ward's fresh back from a 19th month layoff or several fights beyond that layoff. GGG will not only hit Ward harder than Ward has ever been hit before, but also harder than Ward can hit him. In addition, if Ward tries tying up GGG, he'll get to experience the strength and skill which GGG brings to the ring. And it won't be pleasant. Believe me. My prediction is that Ward (if he faces GGG) gets the beating of a lifetime. So much for Ward's new contract, his bum shoulder, the Super Six tournament, the SOG sobriquet, and the mythical P4P number two ranking.

It was direct interview in russian. I can give a direct link if needed. Stangrit is most respectable boxing writer in Russia. Translation is exact but in russian it is a bit tougher.

Remember - GGG childhood was in Maykuduk region in Karaganda. Extremely tough place to grow, similar to Cheliabinsk where Kovalev is from.

Andre? Is it you buddy? Does it hurt being exposed?

OK, when Golovkin says yes to a fight and he is a bich and coward than who is Andre Ward who said no to this fight?

But he still doesn't want to fight Ward. Golovkin's cowardice isn't scripted. He's just scared to death of Andre Ward.

Wait Andre! Wake up It was you who got exposed. You said NO and Golovkin said YES.

GGG has the luxury right now that he was built up as a feared fighter, and when that happens, other fighters who are having a tough time finding an opponent want to fight you. Right now Lara wants to fight and GGG and his team don't give his manager a call. Lara has been calling out for a fight since Martinez rejected GGG years ago.
Kev is one of most loyal GGG haters. When GGG arrived at HBO Kev was predicting L against each coming opponents. Than he realised that MW would not win against GGG and hopes for next savor. He's Savor said NO when asked by HBO but he still insists that GGG is ducking.
OK now this ball**** gets exposed and Kev reverts to another topic - GGG ducking Lara.
Wake up - they didn't turn dawn Lara. They said - "if Lara is serious and HBO aproves him" than lets make it happen.

Funny "Interview clearly says that Ward said NO and GGG said YES" - but Gary reads it as if GGG is saying that he doesn't want to fight Ward.
